A Long-Overdue Trip to Cameron Highlands! (BOH Tea Plantation & Cameron Lavender Garden)
After 4 years of waiting, I finally visited Cameron Highlands at Pahang, Malaysia.
I have always prefer a trip to countryside away from the bustling city lives. I find the chilling breeze of clean air with mesmerizing blue skies appealing and relaxing, it just makes me feel at peace. This was also the reason behind my eagerness to visit this highlands of strawberries and teas despite many people telling me not to cause there are not many things to do.
I am also a huge fan of strawberries and teas to begin with, so maybe that did encourage me even more. *wheezes*
We started our journey at 4.00 pm from Subang and reached Cameron Highlands around 9.00 pm due to the bad jam and also miscalculation of the route, but that's alright as long as we managed to arrive safe and soundly, right? *please say yes* So the first thing we did was to get ourselves some food because we nearly miss our dinner time which is a complete sin, if you ask me.
So, we went to this Cameron Organic Steamboat for something delicious and warm for our pitiful tummies. There were not much varieties in terms of the meat or fish balls but the main selling point here is the super fresh vegetables that apparently are also organic. They were all so sweet so I would suggest you to just order the plain soup instead of ruining it with the strong taste of tomyam soup or its friend. It was definitely a comforting dinner before we checked in to out hotel and rest.
One first destination on our first day in Cameron Highlands was to the BOH Tea Centre at Sungai Palas. I was truly glad we made it early in the morning around 9.30 am so we do not have to "fight"with the crowd. We could climb the stairs toward the cafe at our own pace and did not have to waste time queuing too long just to get our breakfast.
It was a beautiful view of tea plantation that I truly enjoyed. The cool breeze blowing onto your face and the entire of your body are just plain dream-like to me cause I hate the hot weather and dirty air filled with pollution. There were a lot of stairs though that I felt that my fitness was challenged, but I made it above with just a slight pant. Not so bad after all, eh? *proud*
We had Apple pie, scones and some kind of green-tea cheesecake. Let me tell you, that the Apple pie is awesome but the scones and green-tea cheesecake were a disappointment! The green-tea cheesecake did redeem itself by a little because it looks great when paired with the lovely scenery of the tea plantation, but I could not even take more than a spoonful of it. So, do order it if you want a good double-the-green picture but not to eat it. It's your decision to make :P
Next stop?
Cameron Lavender Garden. I was totally love-struck cause the view was just too beautiful! This was my favorite stop throughout our 3D2N in Cameron Highlands. It costs RM 10 for the entrance ticket but it was definitely worth it for me. There is also this signature lavender ice cream of RM 6 per cone which is a must-buy cause it tastes pretty good and it is definitely insta-worthy! *winks*
Aside from Lavender, there are also many other kind of flowers that will make you feel beautiful. HAHAHAHAH. Do not miss the opportunity to take aesthetic picture by wearing pajamas, alright? You will regret it, I'm telling you!!
Okay, I am too tired of writing.
Let me continue my other adventure on another day :P
