Cake Spree at Biscotti Cakery, Batam
I was told that I have caused my friends to gain weight because of all the cakes.
*a moment of silence to all the fats gained*
As I have mentioned in my previous blog post that I am going to make it a point to visit as many cafes as possible and try their desserts. I have leveled up myself and arrived at Biscotti Cakery at Nagoya Newton <3
It is located at the corner lot, occupying the first floor of Hans Inn hotel. It was pretty spacious with a more subtle design in comparison to Anchor Cafe & Roastery, but is still very comfortable.
The tips to enjoy a cake spree is by ordering many different types of cakes and sharing it with your friends! Therefore, you will be able to get a taste of different flavors in the journey of finding your way-to-go cake. We ordered 6 cakes including a blueberry cheesecake that came late and have to be excluded from this cakes photo-sessions.
Who loves strawberries? Put your hands up!!!
Strawberry is love, strawberry is life. Sometimes, I might cheat its trust by going for Banana instead but I still love strawberry very much nonetheless. The minute I went to the cake fridge and saw strawberry shortcake, I right away knew I have met the one (how cheesy). I love cakes that taste very light and not overly sweet and this Strawberry Shortcake says it all. The cream is very light and not too creamy and it would be the right cake for your tea-time. They sliced the strawberries thinly and filled it in between the layers as well as at the side. I seriously like how they made it in the shape of a water drop cause it looks untypical - usually sliced cake comes in either square or triangle or round. It is indeed beautiful inside and out!
5 out of 7 of us declared this as the best tasted cake of all five cakes. The Special Shortcake tastes similar to Oreo Cheesecake but less creamy and cheesy. So, the Oreo taste is more dominant and very suitable for Oreo-lovers because there is a generous amount of Oreo crumbs in this! I would recommend this to my friend if I ever gonna bring them to Biscotti.
They have three options of mille crepe cakes available on that day, which are: Taro Mille Crepe, Milo Mille Crepe and Mille Crepe. A friend of mine decided to try the unusual Taro Mille Crepe and man, he was wise. It is indeed pretty good and it offers another kind of taste that is uncommon but fits well to our taste buds. However, I would be happier if there are more layers and well-separated ones cause I have the habit of eating it layer by layer cause it is more satisfying that way. Still a good one though!
Say hi to the aesthetic red velvet latte which my friend ordered that day. So pretty!
They have quite a wide selections of cakes for you to try and everything looks equally as tempting! Aside from desserts, they also sell main dishes varying from Western to Indonesian food. One of us ordered the Fried Chicken Steak and it was mouth-drooling, I am so tempted to order their main dish next timeeeeeeeeeeee!
I think the prices are reasonable and suitable to what they offer. They have good foods and desserts, the full-glass windows also allows you to take good pictures thanks to the natural lighting ;) (yes, that is very important!).
