"Shooting" a Korean Drama at Sekinchan
Aloha Patootie!
So, guys before you start reading this blog post, please remember that this is not meant to deceive you but rather is the fruit of an inspiration given by my friends. As the title has stated that this story was taken place at Sekinchan, the kingdom of paddy field (at least for me) which I visited end of last year. I was told that the images taken look as if it is meant for Korean drama (don't judge me, it's their opinion and not mine) and that was how I came with the title :P
It was my first time being to Sekinchan and I was excited to see the paddy field!
I know, it sounds funny to some. Like how is a paddy field interesting? But hey, when you spend most of your lifetime in the city, seeing a paddy field can be very interesting, alright?
Look at how the sky is so blue and I was really lucky to be able to enjoy this good weather with instead of the usual hot and sunny weather.
Such a perfect weather to..... Ride a bicycle!
The hotel where we stayed in provide a bike rental and that was the first thing we did once we arrived. I couldn't remember when was the last time I rode a bicycle, but I can bet you that it was at least 4 years ago. I was afraid that I might forget how to bike, but guess the saying is true, it's just like riding a bike! The first few meters were really awkward as I was trying hard to stabilize myself and hoping I won't fall into the muddy paddy field or got chased after by the frogs, but afterwards it was a really joyful experience and I really felt like a kid again.
Isn't the view pretty?
This is definitely the right place to escape from the hectic city life. All the stress seemed to go away and you feel like you are just living in the moment. We also saw this old school bus that is also owned by the Airbnb where we stayed in. I heard the news that recently they have opened this bus as a restaurant and I am looking forward to go there again and try the foods because the concept is simply to die for.
*Drum rolls* Now it is the time to reveal the "Padi Box"!
If you are feeling bored of staying in the usual hotel, would like to go for something different and out of the box then you should definitely check this out!
I found this "Padi Box" as I was scrolling through Facebook and found it again as I was browsing through Airbnb. The thoughts of staying in a container right in the middle of a paddy field excites me. Also, most of the guests are giving really good feedback too! So, I thought why not?
All the reviews are indeed an honest one, because the staffs are really friendly. They even turned on the air conditioner before we got into the room to ensure that the room is cold and comfortable for us to stay in. We had this room with a direct balcony to the paddy field where you can go out and sit during day time. The staff will help close the door in the evening to make sure that no insects will crawl inside your room!
As you can see, the room is really cozy and full of lovely ornaments. I have to admit that I literally took pictures of the entire room, each of the corner cause it was just too pretty not to capture. The room is really clean as well, and they have this booklet where they list down all the nearest good foods at Sekinchan and also the tourist attractions, how thoughtful is that?
Not only that, they have this mini cafe and a game room on the second floor. The cafe is so picturesque! They have this corner as you can see in the image above and also some others for us to satisfy our Instagram-er instinct.
In conclusion, the short trip was a lovely and memorable one. We spent two days, one night and I think it was just perfect! So, are you going to shoot your Korean drama here, as well? :p
